"Actual combat" reforming of experimental courses in eight-year programs molecular biology

Abstract：Objective The advantages and disadvantages of "actual combat" reforming of the experimental courses in eight-year program's molecular biology were discussed.Methods A previous two-week dispersive "modularized" teaching content was concentrated into three days,so it is much more similar to actual practice in laboratory.Questionnaire,general exam results and scoring of subjective experimental design were used to evaluate the effects of reforming.Results General exam results and scoring rate of subjective experimental design were significantly improved by the experimental course's "actual combat" reforming.Besides,the result of questionnaire showed that the majority of students preferred to the reforming although it required more students'attention and higher teachers'intensity of working who prepared the reagents.Conclusion Advantages of experimental course's "actual combat" reforming in molecular biology outweigh disadvantages.This reform can significantly improve the effects of teaching,and it may be a way of future in experimental teaching of molecular biology.
