Abstract:Objective The effect of pedicle screw fixation with bone cement augmentation and intervertebral fusion in the treatment of degenerative lumbar scoliosis patients with osteoporosis were studied. Methods A total of 64 cases of osteoporotic lumbar degenerative disease were randomly divided into experimental group and control group. The patients in experimental group were administered bone cement pedicle screw fixation and intervertebral fusion treatment, while the traditional bilateral pedicle screw fixation and intervertebral fusion was administered in the control group. The pre-operative and post-operative VAS pain score,JOA score,post-operative fusion and complications of patients in the two groups were compared. Results The patients'post-operative VAS scores at 1 month,6 months and 2 years in the experimental group were significantly higher than those of the control group,so as JOA score. There was no significant difference of post-operative complications between the two groups. Conclusion Bone cement augmentation pedicle screw intervertebral fixation can improve the post-operative function, reduce the pain and post-operative complications compared with the bilateral pedicle screw fixation intervertebral fusion for the treatment of osteoporotic lumbar degenerative disease and should be used widely.
