Abstract:Objective The study aims to analyze the clinical and pathophysiological mechanism of slit ventricle syndrome (SVS) and explore the appropriate clinical diagnosis and treatment. Methods The clinical features, operation modes and prognosis were analyzed in 31 cases, retrospectively.Six of these cases were replaced shunt tube system or shunted again, and the rest 25 cases chose the lumboperitoneal shunt. Results Headache, nausea and vomiting were completely relieved in all cases after operation, and visual impairment was also improved. The narrow or occluded transverse sinuses of 3 SVS cases were found open again half a year after lumboperitoneal shunt by head MRV scanning. Conclusion Lumboperitoneal shunt is relatively simple and safe,so it is suitable for SVS patients.Adjustable pressure siphon pipe should be chosen in clinical practice for adjusting a suitable pressure later and reducing the incidence of SVS.SVS may cause cerebral venous sinus stenosis, but the narrowed sinus can become open again with the intracranial pressure returning to normal.
