Microsurgical treatment of hemorrhagic arteriovenous malformation

Abstract：Objective The diagnosis and the microsurgical emergency surgery of the arteriovenous malformations (AVM) were analyzed.Methods A total of 19 patients who were diagnosed as intracranial AVM by CT cerebral angiography and (or) pathologic examination were reviewed from July 2007 to June 2015.Results Among all the cases,15 cases got recovery,1 case was mild disability,1 case was severe disability,and 2 patients died.Conclusion The microsurgical emergency operation of post-craniotomy hematoma and excision of AVM can improve the success rate of rescue and reduce the disability and mortality of intracranial AVM rupture and hemorrhage.
