Abstract:Objective The therapeutic experience of traumatic carotid cavernous fistula (TCCF) using Willis covered stents was summarized. Methods A total of 4 patients with traumatic carotid cavernous fistulas treated with Wilis covered stents from December 2014 to December 2015 were analyzed and followed-up.Results The Wilis covered stents were placed successfully in 4 patients,1 of which had a few contrast agent endoleaks after stent placement. The endoleak did not disappear after redilatation of balloon with higher pressure. And it disappeared after the second covered stent was placed. The angiogram revealed obliteration of TCCF in 4 cases and four ICAs were unobstructed. No complications occurred in four patients. All patients were followed up and no clinical symptoms occurred. Conclusion Willis covered stent is an effective endovascular treatment for TCCF,so it is worth recommending.
