Abstract:Objective Three surgical methods for the treatment of chronic subdural hematoma were compared to discuss the proper treatment for it.Methods A total of 70 cases of chronic subdural hematoma admitted to our hospital in recent 6 years were included and divided into three groups according to different surgical methods. The age,pre-operative nerve function deficits grading,pre-operative bleeding volume,prognosis,post-operative complications and recurrence rate were analyzed. Results There was no difference in cure and improvement rate among three groups (P >0.05).The recurrence rate of the burr-hole group was much higher than that of the single bone hole group with a statistically significant difference (P <0.05).The incidence of post-operative complications was signficantly different between the single bone hole group and the double bone hole group, with that of double bone hole group much higher (P <0.05).Conclusion With low incidence of post-operative complications and low recurrence rate, the single bone hole surgery can be used as the preferred surgical treatment of CSDH.
