Effect of irrigation with aspirin on expression of aquaporin-4 in edema brain after cerebral hemorrhage in rats

Abstract：Objective The effect of irrigated with aspirin on the expression of aquaporin-4 ( AQP4) on edema brain after cerebral hemorrhage in rats was investigated .Methods A total of 70 adult male Wistar rats were divided randomly into three groups: aspirin-irrigation group with 30 rats ( ASA group ) , aspirin-irrigation and hemorrhage removal group with 30 rats ( ASA operation group ) and water-irrigation group with 10 rats (No ASA group).And the analysis was performed at 3 h, 1 d, 3 d, 5 d, and 7 d after cerebral hemorrhage.The expressions of AQP4 on edema brain after cerebral hemorrhage in rats in all groups were analyzed.Results The expression of AQP4 peaked at 3 d after cerebral hemorrhage to ASA group , which was consistent with No ASA group .There was no significant difference in the expression of AQP 4 at all the time points between ASA group and No ASA group (P>0.05).Conclusion The brain edema appears at 3 h following cerebral hemorrhage in rats with aspirin irrigation , peaks at 3 d and lasts for 7 d.There is no difference between ASA and No ASA group .Aspirin irrigation has no effect on the brain edema after cerebral hemorrhage .
