ACE:the qualities that medical postgraduates should achieved during their postgraduate education

Abstract:To study how to steadily promote the professional capacities of medical postgraduates and their abilities to analyze and resolve scientific questions during their postgraduate education while focusing on achieving academic degree.Methods Three essential qualities must be developed during postgraduate education, including appreciation ability, creation ability, and expression ability, abbreviated as ACE.Results During postgraduate education, many studying activities should be organized, including critical reading and interpretation of literatures, frequent and equal academic discussions, and periodical research progress presentations.These activities can stimulate the recognition of the logicality, perfectness, and defects of natural rules by postgraduates.The abilities of postgraduates to seek, to analyze and to resolve scientific questions could be also enhanced.These activities could also encourage postgraduates to express their academic opinions more boldly.Conclusion Consciously improving the abilities of appreciation, creation, and expression can promote both of the scientific thinking and practical ability of medical postgraduates.
