Abstract:Thioredoxin interacting protein, also known as vitamin D3 upregulated protein,is an inhibitor of the thioredoxin system. In recent years, numerous studies have confirmed that thioredoxin interacting protein is involved in multiple pathophysiological processes such as oxidative stress, inflammatory response, pyroptosis, and metabolic disorders, and is associated with the occurrence and development of various cardiovascular diseases including atherosclerosis, hypertension, heart failure, diabetic cardiomyopathy, and myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury. This article aims to elaborate the research progress of thioredoxin interacting protein in the field of cardio-vascular diseases in recent years.
