Abstract:Purple urine bag syndrome is a rare clinical condition with an incompletely clarified pathogenesis, and there is currently a lack of systematic and effective treatment methods. As a novel therapeutic approach, ultrasound combined with bladder irrigation has potential advantages in improving local bladder circulation, reducing inflammatory responses, and promoting tissue repair. This article reports a case of purple urine bag syndrome in a patient with long-term indwelling urinary catheterization due to cervical spine fracture complicated by complete paralysis, aiming to provide clinical reference.Ultrasound combined with bladder irrigation was adopted, and changes in urine bag color, routine urine test indicators, and urine properties were recorded before and after treatment. After 1 week of treatment, the purple color of the patient's urine bag disappeared, the urine color lightened, flocculent substances decreased, bacterial count dropped, urine odor vanished, and the symptoms improved significantly.
