Abstract:Postoperative cognitive dysfunction(POCD)is one of the major postoperative complications in the elderly. Many studies have reported the risk factors of POCD,among which perioperative hypothermia is not only a common risk factor for surgery, but also a high risk factor for inducing POCD.Hypothermia can lead to an increase in perioperative blood loss, which increases the probability of infection.Especially in urology surgery, the use of a large amount of low temperature irrigation fluid during the operation, patients often have hypothermia during and after the operation. This will greatly affect the patient's postoperative recovery and prolong the length of hospital stay. There is still no satisfactory solution to solve the problem of intraoperative hypothermia and reduce the incidence of POCD.This article describes the research status of POCD and the changes of intraoperative body temperature, especially the relationship between intraoperative hypothermia and POCD,suggesting the importance of intraoperative body temperature protection, and it is expected to improve the prognosis of patients through a good body temperature protection strategy.
