Abstract:Neutrophilic asthma is often resistant to steroids and may progress to severe asthma. The key immune cell in neutrophilic asthma is T helper cell 17,which recruits neutrophils by secreting interleukin-17(IL-7)and promotes the occurrence and development of neutrophilic asthma. The nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor protein 3(NLRP3)inflammasome is an immunosensor complex composed of a variety of proteins, which plays a promoting role in the progression of neutrophilic asthma.Studies have shown that blocking NLRP3/IL-1 β/IL-17 signaling pathway has a certain effect on the treatment of this type of asthma. This article discusses the biological characteristics of NLRP3 inflammasome and its pathogenesis in neutrophilic asthma, and summarizes the research progress of targeting NLRP3 inflammasome in the treatment of neutrophilic asthma, aiming to provide a new perspective for the treatment of neutrophilic asthma.
