Abstract:Hippo signaling pathway is a signaling pathway that plays an important role in biological processes, which can regulate cell proliferation, apoptosis and differentiation.Osteoporosis(OP)is a bone metabolic disease characterized by loss of bone mass and destruction of bone microstructure.Hippo signaling pathway can balance the proportion of osteoblasts and osteoclasts, which plays an important role in the regulation of OP.Hippo has multiple regulatory effects on bone development and homeostasis, including the effects on the differentiation of mesenchymal stem cells, the proliferation and maturation of hematopoietic stem cells, the function of fibroblast-like synoviocytes, and the promotion of macrophage differentiation. This article focuses on the mechanism of Hippo signaling pathway in osteoblasts, osteoclasts and mesenchymal stem cells in OP,and focuses on the relationship between OP and Hippo signaling pathway and its treatment prospects, such as targeted regulation of related molecules, the use of exosomes to mediate therapy, the combination of other therapeutic methods, and the application of traditional Chinese medicine. It is expected to provide new ideas for the follow-up research of OP.In addition to summarizing related studies, this review also points out that further studies are needed to explore the role of Hippo signaling pathway in OP-related pathways.Clarifying the precise function of Hippo signaling pathway is of great significance for the development of new therapeutic targets and methods.
