Abstract:Currently, transcatheter aortic valve replacement(TAVR)has emerged AS a high-yield treatment option for symptomatic patients with severe aortic stenosis(AS)and moderate-to-high surgical risk.In patients with severe AS and concomitant small aortic annulus(SAA),its unique aortic root anatomical characteristics increase the challenge of surgery, and the choice of treatment strategy has become a hot topic in recent years.Previous studies have shown that such patients show better hemodynamic characteristics and prognosis after TAVR.This article mainly reviews the prevalence and population characteristics of SAA in patients with severe AS,and the application of echocardiography in the evaluation of aortic root condition before TAVR in SAA patients.
