Abstract:Diabetic foot ulcer(DFU)is a common chronic refractory ulcer, which is also the main cause of amputation and even death in diabetic patients.DFU has become a social public health problem that needs to be solved urgently, which brings a huge economic and psychological burden to patients because of its delayed and difficult cure and easy to relapse.DNA methylation is one of the most intensively studied epigenetic mechanisms in the field of epigenetics, which plays a key role in the occurrence and development of diseases. The regulatory mechanism of many key genes in the development of DNA methylation on DFU is still unclear. This article reviews the role of five DNA methylation-regulated genes in DFU healing, aiming to provide a reference for further guiding the application of DNA methylation in DFU.
