Research progress on pharmacological effects and molecular mechanisms of hederagenin and its aderiva-tives

Abstract：Hederagenin is a pentyclic triterpenoid compound with a variety of biological activities and pharmacological effects such as anti-tumor,anti-depressant,anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial.Hederagenin affects the progression of tumors by regulating apoptosis,autophagy and cell cycle,and has a certain improvement effect on depression,Alzheimer's disease,osteoarthritis and other diseases.The α-hederagenin,derivative of hederagenin,has also shown certain potential in anti-tumor research.It can induce apoptosis and ferroptosis of tumor cells,and play an anti-cancer role in inhibiting cell proliferation and metastasis.In this paper,the research results of hederagenin and its derivative in recent years are summarized and discussed.
