Abstract:There were significant changes in the composition, function and metabolites of intestinal flora in patients with chronic heart failure. The abundance of Escherichia coli/Shigella,Veillonococcus and Enterobacter increased in the intestinal flora of patients with heart failure. The microbial functions such as tryptamine metabolism, lipid metabolism and lipolysaccharide synthesis were increased, the bacterial genes related to the production of beneficial metabolite butyrate were decreased, and the bacterial genes related to trimethylamine oxide production were significantly increased.Metabolites of intestinal flora, such as trimethylamine oxide,short-chain fatty acids, amino acid derivatives, and bile acids are one of the main ways in which intestinal flora interacts with the host. These metabolites can be absorbed directly into the host circulatory system and then migrate to different organs.Or they can be metabolized by host enzymes to produce signaling molecules that do their job.
