Abstract:Asthma is one of the common chronic non-communicable diseases in the world today, which is characterized by variable gas obstruction, causing dyspnea and wheezing.Eosinophilic airway inflammation is often considered to be the most influential diagnosable feature of chronic airway disease.Over the past decade, multiple monoclonal antibodies have been developed targeting this characteristic.Mainly including anti interleukin-5(IL-5)or IL-5 receptors α(mepolizumab, razumab, and benazizumab),IL-13(lebrikizumab and tralokinumab),IL-4 receptor α(monoclonal antibodies against dupilumab),immunoglobulin E(omalizumab),and thymic stromal resistance lymphatic hormone(tezepelumab)of monoclonal antibodies. This article reviews the pathogenesis of asthma and the progress of new anti-eosinophil drugs in the treatment of asthma.
