Research progress on the association between insulin resistance and Alzheimer's disease

Abstract：With the increasing proportion of aging population in China,the incidence of Alzheimer's disease is also increasing.Alzheimer's disease,the most common neurodegenerative disease,shows irreversible cognitive dysfunction.A number of studies have shown that insulin resistance is associated with the pathogenesis of Alzheimer's disease,such as abnormal accumulation of amyloid-β-protein,abnormal tau protein,and neuroinflam-mation.This article systematically reviews the association between insulin resistance and Alzheimer's disease and its possible mechanisms.
