Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical effect of intensity modulated radiotherapy(IMRT)combined with Kanglaite injection in the treatment of elderly patients with non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC)and its effect on immune function. Methods Totally 90 elderly NSCLC patients who were treated in Xingtai People's Hospital,Hebei Province from January 2018 to August 2019 were selected, and they were divided into control group and observation group according to different treatment methods, with 45 cases in each group.Patients were added to the two groups according to the principle of complete voluntary participation. The control group was treated with IMRT(completed in 5-6 weeks),while the observation group was treated with IMRT combined with Kanglaite injection(intravenous infusion for 3 consecutive weeks). The condition of two groups of patients was recorded before treatment and 1 month after the end of treatment, and the recent efficacy,Karnofsky performance status(KPS)score, adverse reactions, and immune function index levels were compared. Results There was no statistically significant difference in objective response rates between the two groups(P=0.606).The improvement rate of KPS score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group[64.4%(29/45)vs 37.8%(17/45)](P=0.020).The incidence of leukopenia in the observation group was lower than that in the control group[13.3%(6/45)vs 66.7%(15/45)](P=0.045).After treatment, the levels of CD4+,CD4+/CD8+ratio,and natural killer cell in both groups were higher than those before treatment, and the observation group was higher than the control group;the CD8+level was lower than that before treatment, and the observation group was lower than the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion IMRT combined with traditional Chinese medicine Kanglaite injection can improve the quality of life of elderly patients with NSCLC,reduce the incidence of adverse reactions, and improve the immune function.
