Abstract:Objective To explore the value of breast imaging reporting and data system (BI-RADS) combined with contrast-enhanced uhrasound in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant breast tumors. Methods Totally 142 patients with suspected breast cancer admitted to Zhangjiagang Aoyang Hospital Affiliated to Jiangsu University from August 2016 to August 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. All patients were diagnosed by BI-RADS and contrast-enhanced ultrasound.Sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value of BI-RADS,contrast-enhanced ultrasound and combined diagnosis were analyzed. Results There were 146 masses including 85 benign masses and 61 malignancies in 142 patients. There were no significant differences of sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value between BI-RADS and contrast-enhanced ultrasound(all P > 0.05).Specificity,accuracy and positive predictive value of combined diagnosis were significantly higher than those of BI-RADS[91.8% (78/85) vs 72.9% (62/85),91.8% (134/146) vs 78.8% (115/146),88.9% (56/63) vs 69.7% (53/76)] (all P < 0.01).There were no significant differences of sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value between combined diagnosis and contrast-enhanced ultrasound (all P > 0.05).Conclusion BI-RADS combined with contrast-enhanced ultrasound can effectively improve diagnostic accuracy and reduce misdiagnosis rate in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant breast tumors.
