Clinical efficacy of Lianhua Qingwen granules combined with oseltamivir phosphate capsule in treatment of influenza

Abstract：Objective To observe the clinical effect of Lianhua Qingwen granules combined with oseltamivir phosphate capsule on influenza.Methods A total of 102 patients with influenza admitted to Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine,Peking University International Hospital from October 2018 to April 2019 were randomly divided into control group and observation group,with 51 cases in each group.The control group took osehamivir phosphate capsule 75 mg twice a day.The observation group took oseltamivir phosphate capsule (same dosage as control group) and Lianhua Qingwen granules 6 g three times a day.Both groups were treated for 5 days.Clinical efficacy,defervescence time,throat swelling and pain,cough and body ache disappearance time were recorded.Blood contents of C-reactive protein (CRP),interleukin-6 (IL-6) and T lymphocyte subsets (C+4D+/CD8+)were detected before and 72 hours after treatment.Adverse drug reactions were observed.Results The total effective rate in observation group was significantly higher than that in control group[96.1％ (49/51) vs 84.3％(43/51)] (P ＜ 0.05).Defervescence time,throat swelling and pain,cough and body ache disappearance time in observation group were significantly shorter than those in control group [(24 ± 6) h vs (36 ± 5) h,(48 ± 4) h vs (68 ± 4) h,(45 ± 4) h vs (65 ± 3) h,(26 ± 4) h vs (39 ± 4) h] (all P ＜ 0.05).Before treatment,there was no significant difference in CRP,IL-6 and CD4+/CD8+ between groups (all P ＞ 0.05).After 72 hours of treatment,levels of CRP and IL-6 significantly decreased and CD4+/CD8+ significantly increased in both groups;levels of CRP and IL-6 in observation group were significantly lower[(3.3 ± 2.2)mg/L vs (5.5 ± 2.1)mg/L,(47 ± 14)mg/L vs (55 ± 16) mg/L] and CD4+/CD8+ was significantly higher than those in control group[(1.76 ± 0.58) vs (1.09 ±0.41)] (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion Lianhua Qingwen granules combined with oseltamivir phosphate capsule treating influenza can effectively improve clinical symptoms and signs,regulate immune function and shorten the course of medication.
