Effect of carvedilol combined with sodium tanshinone Ⅱ A sulfonate on cardiac remodeling in patients with heart failure

Abstract：Objective To observe the effect of carvedilol combined with sodium tanshinone Ⅱ A sulfonate on cardiac remodeling in patients with heart failure.Methods Totally 160 patients with heart failure admitted to Xingtai Third Hospital,Hebei Province from December 2016 to July 2018 were randomly divided into control group and observation group,with 80 cases in each group.The control group was treated with routine therapy;the observation group was treated with carvedilol combined with sodium tanshinone Ⅱ A sulfonate on the basis of routine therapy.Cardiac function,cardiac remodeling indexes and levels of serum cardiac remodeling-related proteins were analyzed.Results There were no significant differences of cardiac function,myocardial remodeling indexes and myocardial remodeling-related protein levels between groups before treatment (all P ＞ 0.05).After treatment,cardiac output and stroke output were significantly improved in both groups and the indexes in observation group were higher than those in control group [(6.5 ± 1.2) L/min vs (5.9-± 1.1) L/min,(84 ± 13) ml vs (70 ±10) ml];left atrial end-diastolic diameter,left ventricular end-diastolic diameter,left ventricular posterior wall thickness,interventricular septum thickness,left ventricular myocardial mass index,serum levels of matrix metalloproteinase-2,matrix metalloproteinase-9 and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 significantly decreased in both groups and they were lower in observation group than those in control group(all P ＜0.05).Conclusion Carvedilol combined with sodium tanshinone Ⅱ A sulfonate can effectively improve cardiac function and inhibit myocardial remodeling in patients with heart failure.
