Review and current situation of hypertension prevention and control in China

Abstract：Hypertension is a common chronic syndrome accompanied by functional or organic damage of the heart,brain,kidney and other organs,which may lead to high risk of cardio-cerebrovascular diseases.Prevention and control of hypertension are urgent and important in the process of people's health in China.This article reviews the history and curren,t status in the management of hypertension in the past 70 years since the founding of the People's Republic of China.China has made unprecedented achievements in the prevention and control research of hypertension and cardiovascular disease through tough efforts of lots of scholars.However,the increasing trend of cardiovascular disease presents formidable challenge for the future generations.
