Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of butylphthalide injection combined with edaravone in the treatment of acute cerebral infarction. Methods Clinical data of 120 patients with acute cerebral infarction admitted to Beijing Rehabilitation Hospital of Capital Medical University from January 2014 to January 2017 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were divided into control group treated by butylphthalide injection and observation group treated by butylphthalide injection plus edaravone. Clinical therapeutic effect was evaluated by National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score and Barthel index score. Blood levels of S-100β, neuron-specific enolase (NSE) and interleukin (IL) were analyzed before and after treatment. Results After treatment,NIHSS score significantly decreased and Barthel index significantly increased in both groups; NIHSS score in observation group was significantly lower and Barthel index score was higher than those in control group[(7.5 ± 0.9) scores vs (10.3 ± 1.9) scores,(52 ± 8) scores vs (47 ± 7) scores](all P < 0.05). After treatment, levels of S-100β,NSE,IL-1,IL-2 and IL-6 significantly decreased in both groups and the levels in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group(all P < 0.05). Conclusion Edaravone can effectively enhance the clinical effect of butylphthalide injection on acute cerebral infarction, which may be related to its regulation on serum S-100β,NSE and interleukin.
