Abstract:Objective To investigate the relation between serum uric acid level and earlobe crease(ELC) formation in patients with coronary atherosclerotic heart disease (CHD).Methods A total of 200 CHD patients admitted from May 2016 to December 2017 in the Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University were enrolled. They were divided into ELC group (n =100) and non-ELC group (n =100).Healthy volunteers were enrolled as normal control group(n =100).Medical information and serum uric acid level were analyzed. Results Age of patients in ELC group was significantly higher than that in non-ELC group [(65 ± 8) years vs (56 ± 7) years] (P < 0.05).Serum uric acid level in ELC group was significantly higher than that in non-ELC group and normal control group [(467 ± 59) μmol/L vs (361 ± 65),(294 ± 85) μmol/L] (P < 0.05);serum uric acid level in normal control group was significantly lower than that in non-ELC group (P < 0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that elevated serum uric acid level was an independent risk factor of ELC formation (odds ratio =1.084,95% confidence interval:1.032-1.134,P < 0.05).Conclusion Serum level of uric acid is an independent risk factor of ELC in patients with CHD.
