Abstract:Objective To analyze the effect of diet and exercise intervention on body mass index, blood pressure, blood glucose and blood lipid metabolism indicators in staffs. Methods A total of 95 subjects with overweight/obesity,hypertension,hyperglycaemia or hyperlipemia were enrolled according to the physical examination results of staffs in Beijing Anzhen Hospital,Capital Medical University from March 6 to June 4 in 2017.A 12 weeks health education and diet and exercise intervention was conducted by a professional team.Changes of body weight, body mass index, blood pressure, blood glucose and blood lipid metabolism indicators, hepatic lipidosis rate and hepatic lipidosis score were analyzed before and after intervention. Results Body mass index and triacylglycerol level after intervention were significantly lower than those before intervention [(27.2 ± 2.6) kg/m2 vs (28.0 ± 2.8) kg/m2,(1.3 ± 0.7) mmol/L vs (1.7 ± 0.9) mmol/L] (P < 0.05).Body weight, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, blood glucose, total cholesterol,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol after intervention were lower than those before intervention without significant differences(P > 0.05).Hepatic lipidosis score after intervention was significantly lower than that before intervention [(0.8±0.7)vs(1.1 ±0.7)] (P <0.05).Conclusion Diet and exercise intervention is an effective mean to reduce body mass index and improve blood pressure, blood glucose and blood lipid metabolism in obese people.
