Abstract:Objective To analyze clinical features of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) complicated with lung cancer. Methods Clinical data of 21 cases of AIDS with lung cancer from May 2009 to October 2016 in Beijing Ditan Hospital,Capital Medical University were retrospectively analyzed. Results All patients were male.Homosexual behavior was the major transmission route [57.1% (12/21)].Most of the patients[66.7% (14/21)] showed that a smoking index≥400 accounted for 47.6% (10/21).Fourteen patients (66.7%) had CD4+ T cell count > 200/μl.Thirteen patients (61.9%) had antiviral therapy before they were diagnosed of lung cancer.Electronic bronchoscopy was performed in 19 patients,42.1% (8/19) had tumor in left upper lobe and 21.1% (4/19) in right upper lobe.Lung squamous cell carcinoma[33.3% (7/21)] and lung adenocarcinoma[33.3% (7/21)] were the most common pathological types. The duration between discovery of positive human immunodeficiency virus and diagnosis of lung cancer ranged from 1 to 72 months. Conclusion There is a trend of AIDS with lung cancer in young people;most of patients smoke;the tumor mainly happens in upper lung lobes;electronic bronchoscopy may contribute to early diagnosis of AIDS with lung cancer.
