Abstract:Objective To analyze metabolic risk factors of chronic total occlusion (CTO) of coronary artery in patients of different ages. Methods Totally 345 patients with coronary CTO who had coronary angiography from August 2014 to August 2016 in Beijing Anzhen Hospital,Capital Medical University were enrolled. There were 245 cases of young and middle-aged patients(group A) and 100 cases of elderly patients(group B).The group A and group B were divided into multiple vessel lesions group(≥3 vessels, group A1 180 cases, group B1 60 cases) and non-multiple vessel lesions group(< 3 vessels, group A2 65 cases, group B2 40 cases).Metabolic risk factors of coronary CTO were analyzed. Results Fasting blood glucose (FBG) in group A was significantly higher than that in group B [(7.5 ± 2.8) mmol/L vs (6.0 ± 1.2) mmol/L] (P < 0.05);systolic blood pressure in group B was significantly higher than that in group A [(138 ± 19) mmHg vs (122 ± 15) mmHg] (P < 0.05).Proportion of diabetes and levels of FBG,triacylglycerol (TG),total cholesterol (TC) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in group A1 were significantly higher than those in group B1 (P < 0.05);systolic blood pressure in group B1 was significantly higher than that in group A1 [(135 ± 20) mmHg vs (122 ± 15) mmHg] (P <0.05).Systolic blood pressure in group B2 was significantly than that in group A2[(142± 18)mmHg vs(121 ±16) mmHg] (P < 0.05).Conclusions High level of FBG is a metabolic characteristic of coronary CTO in young and middle-aged patients.High levels of FBG,TG,TC,LDL-C and the proportion of diabetes are metabolic characteristics of young and middle-aged patients with multiple vessel lesions of CTO.High level of systolic blood pressure is a metabolic characteristic of coronary CTO in elderly patients.
