Abstract:Objective To analyze the medium and long term outcomes of off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting(OPCABG) and percutaneous coronary intervention(PCI) treating elderly patients with coronary atherosclerotic heart disease (CHD).Methods Clinical information of 252 elderly patients (> 80 years old) underwent OPCABG and 252 elderly patients underwent PCI from June 2005 to July 2014 in Beijing Anzhen Hospital,Capital Medical University were retrospectively analyzed. The primary endpoints included all cause death,re-infraction,stroke,re-admission,re-angina,repeat revascularization and PCI.Results Numbers and locations of vascular lesions had no significant differences between OPCABG group and PCI group (P > 0.05).Hospital mortality had no significant difference between groups (P =0.43).During 6 (1,10) years of follow-up,all cause death rate had no significant difference between groups (P =0.13);rates of re-infarction,stroke,re-admission,re-angina,repeat revascularization and PCI in OPCABG group were significandy lower than those in PCI group [1.3% (3/252) vs7.1%(18/252),1.3% (3/252) vs4.8% (12/252),11.4% (27/251) vs 15.9% (40/252),8.4% (20/252) vs 17.1% (43/252),1.3% (3/252) vs 4.4% (11/251),1.3% (3/252) vs 4.4% (11/252)] (P > 0.05).Conclusion In patients older than 80 years of age,OPCABG and PCI have similar mid-long term survival rate;OPCABG contributes to a better quality of life.
