Abstract:Objective To analyze effects of low-osmolar contrast media iohexol and isotonic contrast media iodixanol on renal function in patients with enhanced CT.Methods A total of 81 patients who had enhanced CT from May to June 2016 in the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University were enrolled. The patients were divided into iohexol group(43 cases) and iodixanol group (38 cases).Serum creatinine levels before angiography and at the 1st,3rd,7th day after angiography were analyzed. The occurrence of contrast induced nephropathy (CIN) was recorded. Results Serum creatinine levels at the 1 st,3rd,7th day after angiography had no significant differences compared to those before angiography in both groups [iohexol group:(71 ± 15),(70 ± 14),(67 ± 17) μmol/L vs (68 ± 15) μmol/L;iodixanol group:(71 ± 11),(70 ± 10),(69 ± 11) μmol/L vs (69 ± 11) μmol/L] (P > 0.05);the differences between groups were not significant (P > 0.05).The incidence of CIN in iohexol group was 9.3% (4/43) and the incidence of CIN in iodixanol group was 2.6% (1/38),there was no significant difference between groups (P =0.364).Conclusion Both Iohexol and iodixanol have little effect on renal function.
