Abstract:Objective To analyze the correlation between circulating long non-coding RNA growth arrest-specific transcript 5 (lncRNA GAS5) and coronary artery calcification(CAC).Methods Totally 39 patients with typical angina pectoris symptom and suspected coronary heart disease coronary artery disease from January to March 2016 in Beijing Anzhen Hospital,Capital Medical University were divided into non-CAC group(19 cases,CAC score ranged from 0 to 100) and CAC group(20 cases,CAC score was from 101 to 2 800).The expression of circulating lncRNA GAS5 was tested and independent factors of lncRNA GAS5 and CAC were analyzed. Results The expression of lncRNA GAS5 was significantly higher in CAC group than that in non-CAC group [(0.014 2 ±0.011 1) vs (0.007 4 ±0.007 2)] (P =0.030).Multiveriate linear regression analysis showed that CAC was correlated with lncRNA GAS5 (t =1.99,P =0.045),low density lipoprotein cholesterol(t =2.47,P =0.019) and potassium(t =2.86,P =0.007);lncRNA GAS5 was correlated with interleukin-6 (t =-2.516,P =0.017) and brain natriuretic peptide (t =2.236,P =0.032).Conclusion Patients with CAC have a higher expression level of circulating lncRNA GAS5;CAC score can be an independent factor related to inflammation and ventricle function.
