Effect of amiodarone combined with metoprolol treating potential malignant arrhythmia

Abstract：Objective To observe the clinical effect of amiodarone combined with metoprolol in the treatment of potential malignant arrhythmia.Methods Totally 96 cases of potential malignant arrhythmia from July 2013 to January 2016 in Guangshui Second People's Hospital were randomly divided into observation group and control group,with 48 cases in each group.The control group was treated with amiodarone,the observation group was treated with amiodarone combined with metoprolol according to specific condition.After 2 months of treatment,total effective rate,QT dispersion degree(QTd),occurrences of premature contraction by 24 h ambulatory electrocardiogram monitoring and adverse reactions were analyzed.Results The total effective rate in observation group was significantly higher than that in control group [97.9％ (47/48) vs 87.5 ％ (42/48)] (P ＜ 0.05).After treatment,QTd values in observation group and control group were both significantly lower than those before treatment[(42 ±6)ms vs (61 ±6)ms,(49 ±7)ms vs (61 ±5)ms];the QTd value in observation group was significantly lower than that in control group(all P ＜ 0.05).After treatment,numbers of premature ventricular contraction,premature atrial contraction and premature atrioventricular junctional contraction in observation were all significantly less than those in control group [(856 ± 167) vs (1 823 ± 201),(126 ± 44) vs (354 ± 67),(152 ± 39) vs (432 ± 45)] (P ＜ 0.05).The observation group had 1 case of gastrointestinal reactions and 1 case of dizziness;the control group had 1 case of dry cough and 1 case of gastrointestinal reactions;all adverse reactions were relieved after symptomatic treatments;there were no significant difference of adverse reaction incidence between groups(P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion Amiodarone combined with metoprolol is safe and effective in the treatment of potential malignant arrhythmia.
