Abstract:Objective To analyze the correlation between osteoporosis and severity of coronary artery disease(CAD).Methods Totally 82 patients with coronary atherosclerotic heart disease diagnosed by coronary angiography from January to May 2015 in Beijing Anzhen Hospital,Capital Medical University were enrolled.According to results of ultrasonic bone mineral density(BMD) examination, all patients were divided into osteoporosis group(46 cases) and normal BMD group(36 cases). The severity of CAD was evaluated by Gensini score and Syntax score.Binomial Logistic regression was used to analyze the correlation between osteoporosis and CAD severity. Results In osteoporosis group,Gensini score and Syntax score were significantly higher than those in normal BMD group [(58 ± 54) scores vs (40 ± 32) scores,(19 ± 13) scores vs (14 ± 10) scores] (P < 0.05).Logistic regression analysis showed that osteoporosis was a risk factor of severe CAD (CAD with Gensini score > 40:odds ratio =3.405,95% confidence interval:0.988-11.740,P =0.042;CAD with Syntax score > 22:odds ratio =5.022,95% confidence interval:1.363-18.514,P =0.015).Conclusion Osteoporosis is a risk factor of severe CAD.
