Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical effect of gentamicin-containing gargle in treating fluorouracil induced oral ulcer chemotherapy in colon cancer patients. Methods Totally 170 colon cancer patients with fluorouracil chemotherapy induced oral ulcer from August 2012 to January 2016 in Wuhan Wuchang Hospital were randomly divided into observation group and control group, with 85 patients in each group. Both groups received routine treatment;the observation group had combined treatment including gentamicin-containing gargle (3 times/d).After 7 d of treatment, total effective rate, oral ulcer healing time,T lymphocyte subsets levels and adverse reactions were analyzed. Results In observation group, total effective rate was significantly higher than that in control group [97.6% (83/85) vs 87.1% (74/85),P < 0.05];oral ulcer healing time was significantly shorter than that in control group[(4.9 ± 1.4) d vs (8.1 ± 1.9) d,P < 0.05].After treatment,CD4+ values were significantly higher than those before treatment in both groups [control group:(55.5 ± 3.5)% vs (47.1 ± 5.2)%,observation group:(55.9 ±4.0)% vs (41.4 ±4.6)%],and the CD4+ value in observation group was significantly higher than that in control group (all P < 0.05);CD8+ values had no significant difference between groups(P > 0.05).There were no severe adverse reactions in both groups. Conclusion Gentamicin-containing gargle can regulate immunity and promote ulcer healing;it is safe and effective in the treatment of fluorouracil chemotherapy induced oral ulcer in colon cancer patients.
