Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical significance of changes of serum matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9),interleukin-6 (IL-6) and P-selectin before and after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI)in patients with acute myocardial infarction. Methods Eighty-six patients with acute myocardial infarction undergoing PCI from March 2011 to August 2014 were selected as observation group;86 health people received physical examination at the same period were as control group. The fasting peripheral venous blood sample of subjects in control group and in observation group before and after PCI were collected;the levels of MMP-9,IL-6 and P-selectin were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. Results The levels of MMP-9,IL-6,P-selectin in observation group before PCI were significantly higher than those in control group [(698 ± 109) ng/L vs (299 ± 79) ng/L,(110 ± 11) pg/L vs (72 ± 15) pg/L,(96 ± 72) μg/L vs (72 ± 66) μg/L] (P < 0.05).Seven days after PCI,the level of MMP-9,IL-6 and P-selectin in observation group [(325 ± 79) ng/L,(73 ± 12) pg/L,(79 ± 69) μg/L] were significantly lower than those before PCI,while were not significantly different compared with those in control group (P > 0.05).Conclusions The levels of MMP-9,IL-6,P-selectin can indicate the changes of disease condition in patients with acute myocardial infarction;monitoring the levels of MMP-9,IL-6,P-selectin is helpful to assess the effect of PCI.
