Abstract:Objective To explore the effect of intragastric infusion with Chinese medicine compound Dachengqi decoction combined with conventional medical treatment in treating intestinal obstruction. Methods Totally 42 patients with intestinal obstruction from May 2013 to February 2014 were randomly divided into routine group (21 cases) receiving conventional medical treatment and traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) group (21 cases) receiving intragastric infusion with Dachengqi decoction combined with traditional medical treatment. The efficacy was recorded;the drainage of gastrointestinal decompression 3 d after treatment, anus exhaust time, duration of hospitalization, recurrence rate during 12-month follow-up and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between groups. Results The total effective rate in TCM group was significantly higher than that in routine group [76.2% (16/21) vs 52.4% (11/21)] (P < 0.05).The drainage of gastrointestinal decompression 3 d after treatment, anal exhaust time, duration of hospitalization and recurrence rate during 12-month gastrointestinal decompression and drain during the period of 12 months follow-up recurrence rate of TCM group were significantly lower/shorter than thoe in routine group [(242±21) ml vs (386±23) ml,(3.2±1.0) d vs (4.2±1.0) d,(7.0±1.1) d vs (8.1 ± 1.0) d,4.8% (1/21) vs 23.8% (5/21)] (P < 0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in TCM group was significantly lower than that in routine group [28.6% (6/21) vs 81.0% (17/21)];the severity of adverse reactions in TCM group was significantly lower than that in routine group (P <0.05).Conclusion Combining intragastric infusion and Chinese medicine compound Dachengqi decoction can improve the effect of conventional medical treatment in treating intestinal obstruction, with less adverse reactions.
