Abstract:Objective To investigate the levels of gastrin and carboxyhemoglobin in anthracaemia patients with different severity and prognosis. Methods Totally 315 anthracaemia patients from December 2012 to December 2014 were selected;according to Glasgow coma score (GCS),patients were divided into severe group, moderate group and mild group, according to Glasgow prognosis score (GOS),patients were divided into death group, poor prognosis group and good prognosis group. The levels of carboxyhemoglobin and gastrin before treatment were compared between groups. Results The incidence of conscious disturbance increased along with the level of carboxyhemoglobin [2%-9%:35.3% (12/34),10%-19%:41.7% (35/84),20%-29%:44.4%(59/133),30%-40%:56.8% (25/44),>40%:75.0% (15/20)] (P <0.05).There were 170 cases in mild group,73 cases in moderate group and 72 in severe group;the levels of gastrin and carboxyhemoglobin increased along with aggravation of the illness [mild group:(39 ±7) ng/L,(18 ± 10) %;moderate group:(43 ± 12) ng/L,(28 ± 13) %;severe group:(62 ± 19) ng/L,(36 ± 16) %] (P < 0.05),there were significant differences between groups (all P < 0.05).There were 287 cases in good prognosis group,15 cases in poor prognosis,13 cases in death group;the worse the prognosis, the higher the levels of gastrin and carboxyhemoglobin [good prognosis group:(32 ±9) ng/L,(16 ± 10)%;poor prognosis group:(52 ± 18) ng/L,(28 ± 13)%;death group:(79 ± 24) ng/L,(39 ± 16)%] (P < 0.05),there were significant differences between groups (all P < 0.05).Conclusion The severer the illness and the worse the prognosis, the higher the levels of gastrin and carboxyhemoglobin.
