Investigation of hospitalization expenses in patients with lung cancer chemotherapy

Abstract:Objective To investigate hospitalization expenses in patients with lung cancer chemotherapy.Methods Totally 100 cases of lung cancer chemotherapy from January to December 2014 in Provincial Hospital Affiliated to Shandong University were randomly selected.Types and expenses of drug treatments were analyzed.Results The average hospitalization expense for lung cancer chemotherapy was (20 033 ±9 656)yuan,including(12 761 ±5 840)yuan(63.7%) of drug expense,in which chemotherapy drugs and adjuvant drugs accounted for 41.0% and 59.0% respectively.Docetaxel combined with nedaplatin treatment was the most frequently used chemotherapy plan (20 cases)and the total drug expense was (13 744 ± 6 840)yuan,including (4 862 ± 397)yuan(35.4%) of chemotherapy drugs and (8 881 ±5 886) yuan (64.6%) of adjuvant drugs;the most common adjuvant drug was immunomodulator,followed by antiemetic drug and acid suppression drug.Conclusion Adjuvant drugs take more costs than chemotherapy drugs in hospitalization expenses for lung cancer chemotherapy.
