Abstract:Objective To investigate medical treatment and disease control of hypertension in partial communities in Beijing. Methods A questionnaire survey involved totally 2 548 hypertension patients from 10 community health service centers in Beijing. The questionnaire included general information, medical treatment and disease control situation.Risk factors of blood pressure control were analyzed. Results There were 1 008 males and 1 450 females;the mean age was (70 ± 8) years;26.9% (660/2 458) patients did not take antihypertension drugs;47.7% (1 172/2 458) patients took 1 kind of drug and 25.5% (626/2 458) patients took multiple drugs.Only 16.8% (414/2 458) patients participated in community health education ≥4 times/year;88.3% (2 170/2 458) patients had face-to-face follow-ups ≥ 4 times/year;78.8% (1 936/2 458) patientsmeasured blood pressure at home. The blood pressure control rate was 58.3% (1 432/2 458).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that face-to-face follow-ups ≥ 7 times/year,reading health education materials, home blood pressure measurement(HBPM) and non-smoking were advantaged to improve the blood pressure control rate(P < 0.05).Conclusions The blood pressure control rate in partial communities in Beijing is close to the goal of national chronic prevention and control plan.Face-to-face follow-up,reading health related materials,HBPM and non-smoking help improve blood pressure control rate.
