Hu Xiaodong
Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical efficacy and safety of Chinese medicine Zhikesan powder in treating pathogenic wind cough. Methods Totally 120 patients with pathogenic wind cough from November 2012 to November 2013 were randomly divided into control group (60 cases) orally given carbetapentane and observation group (60 cases) orally given Zhikesan power. Two weeks after treatment, the visual analog scales (VAS),clinical effect and adverse reactions were observed and compared between the two groups. Results After 2 weeks of treatment, the VAS score in observation group was significantly lower than that before treatment and that in control group [(18 ± 7) scores vs (63 ± 13),(27 ± 10)scores] (P < 0.05);the total effective rate of observation group was significantly higher than that of control group [96.7% (58/60) vs 73.3% (44/60)] (P <0.05).During treatment,no obvious adverse reactions occurred in both groups. Conclusion Zhikesan powder is effective and safe in treating pathogenic wind cough.
