Dynamic changes of lymphocyte subsets in children with mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia
Abstract:Objective To analyze dynamic changes of lymphocyte subsets in children with mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MPP) and to explore the clinical value of lymphocyte subsets regarding evaluating the curative effect. Methods Totally 100 hospitalized children from 5 to 10 years old with MPP (MPP group) between September 2013 and August 2014 were selected and divided into severe subgroup(33 cases) and ordinary subgroup(67 cases);100 healthy children were set as a control group. The lymphocyte subsets of MPP group at acute stage, restoration stage and the end of the second month were detected;the lymphocyte subsets of control group at the same time were determined by flow cytometry. Results At acute stage,CD4+,CD4+/CD8+,CD3+,CD16+/CD56+ lymphocyte subset were significantly lower and CD19+ lymphocyte subset was significantly higher in MPP group compared with those in control group [(36 ±5)% vs (41 ±5)%,1.12 ±0.31 vs 1.58 ±0.23,(68 ± 10)% vs (71±11)%,10±4 vs 16 ±3,(18 ±7)% vs (12 ±5)%,P<0.05 orP<0.01].At restoration stage,CD3+,CD4+,CD19+ lymphocyte subset weresignificantly higher in MPP group compared with those in control group [(84±10)% vs (71±11)%,(43 ±5)% vs (41±5)%,(15±6)% vs (12±5)%,P<0.05 orP<0.01].At acute stage,CD3+,CD4+,CD4+/CD8+,CD19+,CD16+/CD56+,lymphocyte subsetin severe MPP subgroupwere significantly lower than those in ordinary MPP subgroup [(62 ± 9) % vs (69 ± 10) %,(35 ± 5) % vs (38 ± 5)%,1.04±0.25vs1.20±0.22,(10±6)% vs (16 ±6)%,9 ±3 vs12 ±4,P<0.05orP<0.01].Atrestoration stage,CD3+,CD4+,CD4+/CD8+,CD19+ lymphocyte subsetin severe MPP subgroupwere significantly lower than those in ordinary MPP subgroup [(73 ± 9) % vs (84 ± 10) %,(39 ± 5) % vs (44 ± 5) %,1.32 ± 0.23 vs 1.59±0.25,(13±5)% vs (15 ±6)%,P<0.05 orP<0.01].At the end of the second month,CD3+ and CD4+ lymphocyte subsetin severe MPP subgroupwere significantly lower than those in ordinary MPP subgroup [(76±11)% vs (71 ±11)%,(40±6)% vs (38 ±5)%,P<0.05];CD3+ and CD4+ lymphocyte subsetin recurrent cases were significantly higher than those in curative cases [(75 ± 12)% vs (72 ± 10)%,(43 ± 5)% vs (40 ± 4) %,P < 0.05].Conclusion Immune function is disordered in MPP children at acute stage, which is more serious in severe cases.
