Abstract:Objective To analyze the clinical characteristics and features of cardiac magnetic resonance image (CMR) in patients with malignant ventricular arrhythmia (MVA) after old myocardial infarction. Methods Totally 34 patients with old myocardial infarction from November 2013 to June 2014 were enrolled and divided into non-MVA group (24 cases) and MVA group (10 cases, including 8 cases of ventricular tachycardia and 2 cases of ventricular fibrillation). The left ventricular systolic function (LVEF),left ventricular size(LVD),myocardial perfusion, total myocardial scar (TMS) and the percentage of TMS for total left ventricle segments (TMS%) were analyzed and compared between the two groups. Results The LVEF,LVD and myocardial perfusion abnormal segments showed no statistical differences between the two groups (P > 0.05).In MVA group, the TMS and TMS% were significantly higher than those in non-MVA group [(40 ± 16) vs (18 ± 15),(27 ± 15) % vs (12 ± 10) %] (P < 0.05).Conclusion The area of myocardial fibrosis is a predictor of MVA in patients with old myocardial infarction.
