Abstract:Objective To observe the effect of integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine in improvement of left ventricular systolic function in patients with stable coronary artery disease. Methods Totally 30 cases of patients with coronary heart disease were enrolled and divided into integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine group (15 cases) and conventional western medicine group (15 cases). The patients were given conventional western medicine according the guideline in conventional western medicine group, and were given Huoxin pills plus routine treatment in integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine group. After 8 weeks of treatment, the changes of blood pressure, heart rate, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) and left ventricular fractional shortening (LVFS) were measured and compared between the two groups. Results Before and after treatment, the systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, heart rate,LVEF and LVFS were (134±13) mmHg and (129 ± 119) mmHg,(80 ±9) mmHg and (73 ± 12) mmHg,(66 ±5) times/min and (65 ±9) times/min,(61 ±8)% and (62 ±5)%,(35 ±7)% and (36 ± 10)% in conventional western medicine group,(132 ± 14) mmHg and (110 ±9) mmHg,(76 ± 11) mmHg and (70 ±8)mmHg,(65 ±7) times/min and (60 ±5) times/min,(59 ± 7)% and (65 ± 10)%,(32 ± 5)% and (37 ± 8)% in integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine group, respectively. The systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, heart rate,LVEF and LVFS were all statistically improved after treatment in integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine group (all P < 0.05);while only the diastolic blood pressure was significantly reduced after treatment in conventional western medicine group (P < 0.05),the other indicators were not statistically improved (all P > 0.05).The systolic pressure and heart rate were more reduced, the LVEF and LVFS were more increase in integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine group compared with conventional western medicine group (all P < 0.05).Conclusion Integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine may improve the left ventricular systolic function in patients with stable coronary artery disease.
