Clinical analysis of sudden cardiac death of 194 patients

Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical characteristics of sudden cardiac death (SCD) patients in Karamay city.Methods Data of 194 SCD patients who were rescued in Emergency Center of Karamay during January 2010 to February 2014 were collected.The age distribution in different gender patients and the pathogeny distribution in different age patients were analyzed.Results There were 131 male patients and 63 female patients,with age of (62 ± 19) years old.The proportion of hypertension in males was significantly higher than that in females [22.1% (29/131) vs 3.2% (2/63),x2 =11.394,P =0.001],the proportion of patients >60 years old in male was significantly lower than that in females [52.7% (69/131) vs 76.2% (48/63),x2 =9.830,P =0.002].The patients of 68-72 years old had the highest ratio in the 194 cases [31.4% (61/194)].The ratio of coronary heart disease (CHD),pulmonary heart disease,hypertension complicated with CHD,hypertension complicated with CHD and diabetes increased with aging.Conclusions The SCD patients in Karamay city are mostly elderly,and hypertension and CHD are the main causes.
