Abstract:Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Pudilan Anti-inflammatory Oral Liquid (PAOL) treating children upper respiratory infection (URI).Methods The randomized controlled trials (RCT) of PAOL treating UR1 were retrieved from EMbase,PubMed,CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure),CBM (China Biology Medicine disc CBMdisc) and VIP(VIP Database for Chinese Technical Periodicals) (from establish to March 2014).Results Fourteen RCTs involving 2 035 patients were ultimately identified. The meta-analysis results showed that the effective rate of PAOL group was superior to that of the control [RR =1.20,95% CI (1.16,1.25),P < 0.01] ; the defervescence duration of PAOL group was shorter than that of the control [MD =-1.15,95% CI(-1.50,-0.80,P <0.01].There was no significant difference in the incidence rate of adverse reactions between PAOL group and the control [RR =1.08,95% CI (0.43,2.71),P =0.59].Conclusion The meta-analysis results indicate that PAOL for treating children URI is effective with good safety. However large sample are needed.
