Clinical observation of Xiao'er zhili syrup for treatment of children with post-traumatic brain syndrome

Abstract：Objective To explore the effect of Xiao' er zhili syrup on post-traumatic brain syndrome.Methods A total of 73 cases of children with post-traumatic brain syndrome were treatment group and treated with Xiao'er zhili syrup; 68 cases of children were control groupand treated with acetamidepyrrolidone.The clinical curative effects,adverse reactions ratio and relapse rate were evaluated.Meanwhile,the examination of conners child behavior rating scale for parents and mini-mental state examination(MMSE) were conducted before and after treatment.Results ①The total efficiency of the treatment group and the control group was 76.5％ (52/68) and 89.0％ (65/73) ; the difference between groups was statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05).The incidence of adverse reaction of treatment group and control group was 38.2％ (26/68) and 4.1％ (3/73) ; the difference between groups was statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05).At discharge and 6 months follow-up,the recurrence rate in control group and treatment group was 13.2％ (9/68) and 4.1％ (3/73) ; the difference between groups was statistically significant (P ＜0.05).②After treatment,morality,psychosomatic,impulsive restlessness,anxiety,hyperactivity indices including behaviorin control group and treatment group were[(1.04 ± 0.31) scores,(1.01 ± 0.29) scores ; (1.3 ± 0.5) scores,(1.3 ± 0.5) scores ; (0.7 ± 0.5) scores,(0.6 ± 0.3) scores ; (1.0 ± 0.4) scores,(0.9 ± 0.4) scores ; (0.87 ± 0.25) scores,(0.91 ± 0.32) scores ; (1.0 ± 0.4) scores,(1.1 ± 0.5) scores] significantly improved compared with those before treatment [(1.32 ± 0.26) scores,(1.34 ± 0.27) scores ; (1.8 ±0.5) scores,(1.9 ± 0.4) scores ; (1.3 ± 0.4) scores,(1.3 ± 0.5) scores ; (1.5 ± 0.5) scores,(1.5 ± 0.5)scores;(0.65±0.21) scores,(0.68 ±0.27) scores;(1.6±0.3) scores,(1.6±0.4) scores] (P＜0.05);but there were no significant differences regarding behavior indices between groups (P ＞ 0.05).③MMSE total scores of the treatment group and the control group after treatment were higher than those before treatment ; the difference between groups was statistically significant [control group:(26.9 ± 26.9) scores vs (20.7 ± 4.7)scores,treatment group:(26.0 ± 2.5) scores vs (20.8 ± 4.6) scores,all P ＜ 0.05],but there were no significant differences regarding the nerve function between groups (all P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion Xiao'er zhili syrup is good for treatment of children with post-traumatic brain syndrome in clinic.
