Abstract:Objective To assess the efficacy and safety of breviscapine injection for patients with acute intracerebral hemorrhage. Methods We systematically searched the databases of Cochrane Library,PubMed,EMbase,Wanfang,VIP,CBM and CNKI.The method recommend by the cochrane collaboration was used to evaluate the quality of included trials and extract the available data.RevMan 5.2 software was used for meta-analysis.Results Five trials involving 428 patients were included. The quality of all the included studies were of low level. The Results of meta-analyses indicated that breviscapine injection showed significantly effects on the improvement of intracerebral hematoma and encephaledema compared with control group, with weighted mean difference (WMD) =-4.81,95% CI:-5.62 to-4.00 and WMD =-1.37,95% CI:-2.32 to-0.43,respectively.Meanwhile,there was significant statistical difference on neurological function defects score between the breviscapine and control group after treatment, with WMD =-4.57,95% CI:-5.88 to-3.25.Compared with control group, the differences of efficiency rate and overall efficiency rate were statistical significant in the treatment of breviscapine injection for acute intracerebral hemorrhage, with RR = 1.63,95% CI:1.23 to 2.15 and RR =1.20,95% CI:1.06 to 1.37,respectively.No serious adverse effects were reported. Conclusions Breviscapine injection appears to be an effective and safe treatment on acute intracerebral hemorrhage. However, due to the low quality and small sample size of the studies included, the reliability of the conclusion is reduced to varying degrees.
