Abstract:Objective To investigate the relation among CXC chemokine receptor 16 (CXCL16),high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP) and carotid plaqeues of acute cerebral infarction. Methods One hundred and twenty acute cerebral infarction patients were classified into without plaque group(n =22) and plaque group(n =96) ; they were also divided into unstable plaque group (n =59) and stable plaque group(n =40).Blood samples were collected on the next day after admission.CXCL16 and hs-CRP were detected by complete automatic plasma biochemistry. The relation among CXCL16 and hs-CRP with carotid plaqeues was analyzed. Results The level of CXCL16 and hs-CRP in patients of acute cerebral infraction with carotid plaque was higher than that in patients without plaque; the level in patients with unstable plaque group was higher than that in plaque group [(2.5 ±1.0) μg/L vs(1.7 ±0.8)μg/L,(5.3 ±2.4)mg/L vs (3.7 ± 1.9)mg/L,all P <0.01].The level of CXCL16 and hs-CRP was in a positive correlation; area under the ROC curve of CXCL16 was larger than that of hs-CRP[(3.0 ± 1.0)μg/L vs (2.0 ±0.7) μg/L,(6.0 ±2.4)mg/L vs(4.3 ±2.0)mg/L,all P<0.01].The area under the ROC curve of serum CXC CL 16 was 0.798,P =0.000,95% CI:0.709-0.886 ; the area under the ROC curve of hs-CRP was 0.703,P =0.001,95% CI:0.598-0.807.The area under the ROC curve of Serum CXC chemokine receptor 16 was greater than that of high-sensitivity C-reactive protein. Conclusion The level of CXCL16 and hs-CRP can predict carotid atherosclerosis and stability of plaqeue.
