Abstract:Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of pulmicort respules combined with combivent in the treatment of acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD).Methods Databases such as PubMed,foreign medical journal service, china national knowledge interact,VIP datebase,China hospital knowledge database and wan fang data were searched to collect the randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of pulmicort respules combined with combivent versus conventional therapy for AECOPD patients. Two reviewers independently screened the literature according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, extracted the data, assessed the quality ; the meta-analysis was performed using RevMan 5.2 software. Results A total of eight RCTs including 638 AECOPD patients were included. The results of meta-analysis demonstrated that pulmicort respules combined with combivent could significantly improve PaO2 [mean difference (MD) =5.50,95% confidence interval (CI):1.06 ~ 9.95,Z =2.43,P =0.02],FEV1 % [MD =6.02,95 % CI:2.29 ~ 9.04,Z =3.90,P < 0.01] and total effective rate[RR=4.90,95%CI:2.45 ~9.78,Z=4.50,P<0.01].Conclusion Pulmicort respules combined with combivent can significantly improve FEV1,PaO2 and symptoms in AECOPD patients.
